Blue Eyes Forest

“Somewhere near the forest I saw her” I said to Linda my neighbor. “She had long blond hair and the bluest eyes I have ever seen in my life Mrs. Linda. I saw her, I did.” Mrs. Linda shook her head no. “I don't believe you. I can't stand it when you story like this!” She said sternly making sure not to break eye contact. “But I'm not storyin'. I saw her clear as day and you better believe me becau-” “Now why, why should I believe you? Huh? Because you saw her with your own two eyes that's why?” “Well” I said “yes. That's why.” ”Oh you!” Mrs. Linda walked off to leave me alone in her living room. I look at the ground trying to remember the best I could of the girl. She was about 13 I suppose. She had long blond hair like I said and she was very pail almost dead lookin'. She was very thin and not very tall. I wondered where she was from and why she chose to come around these parts of the town or even this town. I sniffed and looked off at Mrs. Linda cryin' to herself sayin' ”Lord, Why? Why her?” I was shocked she was so hurt from this. All I saw was a girl running through the forest in a little blue dress. What was so wrong with that? I did not care any more I was just scared silly by the way she was passing back and forth through the hall way sayin' weird stuff other than just prayin'. I looked again and she was gone then appeared in my vision, but right in front of me this time staring me in the eye. She glared at me with a tight lip and said “Now, if you are tellin' the truth tell me exactly where you saw her.” She saidthe word “exactly” very strongly. “Well I was out and about near the stream and I heard runnin' and was very scared. Then I saw a girl about 13 in a little blue dress. She had blond hair and the bluest eyes you have ever seen and she have very pail skin almost dead.” Mrs. Linda took a seat next to me a big chair. “So what were you doin' out in the forest last night?” “Nothin' just was there.” “Fine don't tell me, but it could be very critical to the story.” “Well fine. Just say I was picken' berries or fetchen' water or somethin'. Anyway I saw her! I'll show you, but only if you want me to.” Mrs. Linda relaxed as if she was starting to believe me and then agreed to go where I saw her. Walking through the forest Mrs. Linda was shaking in fear. I asked why she was so scared. She stopped and looked at me and said “Why aren't you afraid? There are wild animals and God knows what else. I would not be surprised if we did not get eaten right here by some...animal!” she let out a little scream and walked on. I stopped. “Well this is the place.” I smiled and looked at her. She looked at me like I was as stupid as a board. “Mrs. Linda I beg you. This is the place!” “Well alright then.” She looked out at the treeless patch in the forest. No one knows what happened to make it that way, but people supposedly think that it is haunted, but in order to be an official teenager you must spend the night in the dead center of the bare patch. The older people of the town thought his ritual was stupid and dangerous. That is why I could not tell Mrs. Linda. Mrs. Linda is not quite old enough to be one of the haters of this ritual, but her fear of the forest is so bad she forbids everyone, even people she does not know, from coming here. She just stared at me. I stared at her. “Well say somethin'!” Mrs. Linda blasted out. “Why don't you, but there. I said somethin'. So do you believe me or not?” She scoffed at my question. “Well what do you think May? Am I alright with you comin' out here like this at night? Well no!” “Well OK. So movin' on. I saw her here.” We heard sticks cracking behind us now that we were quiet. Mrs. Linda shrieked. “Shhhh!!” I said as I walked towards the noise. “You're crazy, May! Come away from there this instant. I order you!” I just ignored her. I walked closer and through out my hand as Mrs. Linda screamed sure something had got me, and I pulled out a girl with blue eyes and blond hair and pail skin, just like the girl I saw last night. The girl beamed at me. She tried to run away, but I was taller and heavier than she even though I was not fat she was just so small and helpless. “I saw you last night and you have been makin' us restless. I don't know why, but Mrs. Linda there has been a mess since I told her about you.” Mrs. Linda interrupted me. “No use she don't speak English. I guess I should tell you. Her name is Natalie. She is from somewhere else. I don't know where though.” I loosened my grip on the girl and she tried to get away again, but she was still to weak. I pulled at my dress trying to look all tough, but there was no use just like talkin' to her. She did not understand a bit of it. We brought her back to Mrs. Linda's house where we would learn more about that girl and her importance in our little town than anyone would ever imagine
