Baby Say "Cheese"!

OK there was this guy who emailed us. His name is Anonymous so we will say Mark. Mark says his girlfriend wants him to do the sculpting contest just 'cause. So Mark did and here are his cute little pictures of a baby. The pictures are not that good but he did well considering his camera has been acting funky. So here it is!

Insane, crazy, and just plain weird jobs!

Odor Tester

This one is pretty odd, but some chemists have to make sure that all of those deodorants and anti-perspirants are operating properly to keep their users free of funk!

Fortune Cookie Writer

Yes, we've all wondered who the heck writes those fortunes in English! Finishing a take-out Chinese meal means you'll usually get those delightfully witty pieces of advice that people are so quick to read.

Professional Whistler
Believe it or not this man whistles tunes and does it for a living. Allegedly this gentleman is well versed in several different genres of music.

Braille Translator

Someone has to modify all sorts of texts and convert them to Braille for the blind. This can include novels, music, textbooks, and brochures. There is nothing wrong with making things more accessible for the blind and this one sounds like it's a quite useful job, but it does sound a little crazy.

Dog Food Tester

Watch out guys, this gal is going to have some great breath in store for you. Just like any other meals, dog food needs to be inspected too. I suppose they can't use dogs to test the food so this profession requires a taste testing of such a delicious cuisine.

Gum Buster

Have you ever sat in a park bench and had the misfortune of placing your hand in old gum? Well that's where these guys come in, removing gum that resides all over the place.

Crazy jobs, I know. Who would want to do any of that? Well, maybe some of them wouldn't be that bad. But a Gum Buster? How about a Dog Food Tester? You'd have to be extremely desprete for a job to take one of them.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this. I know I did! But I want to tell you that I didn't think of all of this stuff up on my own. I got it from http://www.jobprofiles.org/.
Do you have a weird profession? Know someone that does? If you have the time, write a quick comment about a job you have, or you think, is crazy. We love to hear from you guys!

Facebook or Myspace?

Most people think that Myspace and Facebook are basically the same thing- I was one of them. But, to my surprise, their is quite a few different things about them.
• The look and feel of both sites is different: Myspace profiles are all unique and users can add different colors, personal pics and graphics to their page. On the other hand, Facebook profiles are clean and professional.

• Behavior: On Myspace it is more socially acceptable to a friend request. On Facebook that almost never happens. Your Facebook friends are usually people you actually know. Plus, anyone can view your profile on Myspace.

Myspace’s 3 different features are the bulletin board, blog posts and music applications. The first, the bulletin board, allows users to post a message which all of their friends will see when they log in. Because of it’s visibility on the homepage, it is a quick and easy way to grab the attention of all of your friends at once. The second, the blog area, appears on each profile and allows users to make blog posts without actually hosting a blog. And third, you can add music. It’s one of Myspace’s unique features and why the social network has become so famous for discovering bands and talent.

Then there are Facebook applications, a phenomenon that has taken a life of its own ever since their introduction 4 years ago. Here is some of the most fun applications:

• Events: Create event profiles and invite your friends.

• Where you’ve been: Map where you can show everyone where in the world you have been to

• Bumper stickers: Funny “flair” passed back and forth between friends.

• Books you’ve read: Pictures of the books you have recently read and/or are reading

• Graffiti Wall: An application where you can draw a picture on someone else’s wall
• Facebook Chat: Very similar to IM, this app allows you to chat with any of your FB friends currently logged in.

I hope this has helped you choose which one is best for you! The more you know about each social network, the better!
What do you think? Which do you choose? Please comment or email us at chipotleandjalapeno@gmail.com!

Jalapeno to Chipotle

Last night I was watching an episode of Good Eats on Chilies and I found out by watching it that a Chipotle is nothing more that a dried Jalapeno so that proves why Jalapeno and me are so alike! Think about it....

Our Blogoversary

"Blogoversary? Whats a blogoversary?" you may have asked yourself as you read the title of this post. It's an anniversary of when your blog first started, so you just combine "Blog"and "Anniversary" and say "blogoversary". I don't know who made that up, but who ever did was brilliant! Anyway, our 6th month Blogoversary is March 16th, 2010. We want to celebrate somehow, but we don't know what to do. So, we want you to send us your comments and emails and tell us what you think we should do to celebrate. Six posts in one week? Six different topics in one week? Anything you write in we will consider. When you send us in your ideas, make sure you leave your first name, age, and state (just in case we would use your idea.) so we can give you a proper thank-you in one of our posts, because, of course, we used your idea and you are a blessing to us (haha, funny way to put it, huh?).

What did you give your lover?

Happy Valentines Day everybody! I hope everyone feels loved! In today's post, we want to know what everyone got their spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend. And did they like it? So never mind that question. We just want to know what you got them and why.  Here is some of the most popular Valentines gifts from http://www.everythingvalentinesday.com/:

  • "An Ipod is a cool gadget and is one of the most popular Valentines gifts these days."
  • "Nothing beats the traditional bouquet of roses."
  • "A box of Chocolates is still everyone's favorite."
  • "Your Beloved's favorite perfume."
So what did you get your lover? Tell us what and why at chipotleandjalapeno@gmail.com or just comment on this post. We love your feedback!

More?? Thanks!

Wow, I was checking out my email last night and right before I was going to sign out I hit send and receive and we got an email for the sculptures contest! Wow if I did not hit that button I would not have seen this. Hannah Q., Age 22 from, Kansas said, "I love your blog I read it every day you have a new post! I saw this contest and was all like well...I am not all that good, but what the hay. I might as well give it a try 'cause what else could I do to get on their blog. So I made this little girl I call "Suzy and Her Scarf".  I think it is sort of cute and I liked the colors form cutiecake and went to the store and bought some Play-Doh that was similar colors. I made it took a pic. and sent it in. I sent it kind of late so I might not see it till Monday. I like this contest 'cause I get to bring out my inner child! Anyway here is my picture!"

Cutiecake

Hello people of the world and good day to all. We have got some sculptures in and they were cute and good and well it seems like it's lots of fun for the people who have entered their sculptures. So join the fun and keep sending in yours and have fun with it. We have only simple rules: 1. It can NOT be over PG 2. You can't make it gross must be nice and happy 3. Have fun with it and if you would like use orange Play-Doh.  These are the rules we have for you please follow them if you do not your email will be deleted and not put on our blog. Simple enough?  OK moving on we have a cute cupcake from Kathrine Z., Age 34, in Vermont she is a mother of four and loves baking cupcakes for her kids and their friends. She had a little time off to be board so she made a Play-doh cup cake and I LOVE it! So cute! If you think so too post a comment or send us an email. She also says she is thinking of starting a bakery, but she thinks that would take too much time from her being with her kids and husband. She loves the idea of being a mother more than working all the time. So for now she is in her kitchen making cupcakes for friends and family. How touching? So here is the beautiful cupcake. She says she took this picture on her wood floors to match our example pictures! She calls this one "Cutiecake"! How much more cuteness can you handle????

The Best Diets

Hi! Sorry we took so long to get this set up for y'all to read. Both Chipotle and I have been busy with our lives, but we still think about our blog and our typing away for you. Also please send us emails and post comments- we'd love to hear feedback from you guys!

Moving on. Here are the diets you sent into us:
The Easiest (but slowest) Diet

"My diet was just to simply cut out junk food. I made a rule for myself to only be able to have high-calorie snacks on Saturday and Sunday.. it was pretty helpful. After that, I just took the easy opportunities to burn fat like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, taking the shopping cart back into the store instead of putting it into those cart holders outside (The employees will love you for this act of kindness, especially in the winter time!). And also taking the long way in the mall, looking through every store you think you might need something (This method is good for your health and bad for your wallet!). Doing all this everyday, I lost 22 pounds by the end of the year. So, if you're a person that just DOES NOT like exercising, this diet is the one for you, because soon, taking those 'extra opportunities to burn fat' will start to slide into your habits, and you won't even remember about the losing weight thing. You will forget you're burning calories at all. Its a great surprise at the end of the year!" Beth, age 45, Rhode Island

The Fast Diet

"Hi there. I want to let you know how I lost my weight! In the morning I would eat something low carb and high fiber. Then for lunch  I eat salad or a sandwich. Dinner, I eat high protein and some carbs and then a tiny sweet thing like 1 home made chocolate covered marshmallow. I ignore the junk and don't think about it I am VERY STRICK on myself and make myself feel bad when I eat bad. I am training myself NOT to like bad foods. Like I used to LOVE Oreos now I think they are DISGUSTING!!!! I am about 5ft. tall and I used to weigh about 145 now I weigh 130. That's a lot of weight for a short lady like me! I have been on this diet since September and am still on it and am still loosing! See how fast that was!!! WOOO!!! Sorry, you girls bring out the spicy in me!" Tawny, Abilene, TX Age 20

Another Fast Diet

"Hi Chipotle and Jalapeno! Here is how I lost weight. Well, I better start from the beginning: I've been a history teacher for 12 years now, and I've always taken interest in history all my life. I don't know, it just is really interesting to me. Anyway, I love going to Washington D.C. with my husband for vacation.. but I've only went 1 time... I know, I made it seem like I've been there alot, but I haven't (I could have went in high school, but my parents didn't have the money). But anyway, when I went, I wanted to see everything, and I didn't want to be rushed or be on a schedule, so I didn't go with a tour guide or anything. Anyway, I was staying there for a week. Well, I did a lot of walking doing somthing I love. And you know what that means- I lost weight. I didn't lose a bunch. Just 7 pounds, which is a pound a day. I know it isn't alot, but I figure if I save my money and go there again, I could stay longer- maybe, say, 14 days? Thats 14 pounds lost there. But, what I'm trying to say is lose weight doing somthing you love- you don't have to go to Washington D.C. like me, but you could go to.. anywhere. Anywhere you think you might walk alot. And when you do get to your vacation spot, try and walk to places as much as possible. Then you'll increase the number of burned calories!" Ann, age 36, Pennsylvania

Thanks so much Beth, Tawny and Ann! I'm sure your diets encouraged some people to lose weight. Thanks to all that participated!

Sculptures Again...Again: See what we got!

Alright thank you for sending your awesome sculptures. People went all out and even used orange like I did for the example sculptures. Great, keep on doing what you are doing. We still would like you to send in more! We got one from Alexandra, age 9, In Connecticut. Her mother saw this competition and recommended it to her. This little artist was eager to start! She calls this one "Cheese".

Valentine's Day

It is getting to be that time of year - Valentine's Day!  A day of love, candy, and roses!  What do you do to celebrate Valentine's Day?  Take your lady out to dinner?  Give flowers and candy to your loved one?  Pass out cards to your friends?

Some think that Valentine's Day is just a Hallmark holiday made up to generate sales....You know who you are!  Actually, Valentine's Day is the second largest holiday for gift giving, decorations, and the overall spending your paycheck.  It probably also ranks right up there as one of the messiest of holidays in terms of preparation;  lots of glitter, paper shreds, and glue.  Remember giving valentines to ALL of your classmates in order to be fair and not leave anyone out?  That was a good socialist idea made up by your teacher to keep feelings from getting hurt, however, do you remember picking out the corniest or ugliest card for the kid you didn't care for, you know, the one who picked his nose or called you names?  I must admit that I did the same thing.   On the other hand, you would cling to that Snoopy valentine from your true love that asked you to "be mine" like it was a marriage proposal.  Some people save these cards for years...again, you know who you are.

And don't even get me started on the little heart candies with the love words on them like "be mine", "love you", "kiss me", etc., in all their chalky grossness.  If your love gives you those, my first thought would be "too cheap to buy the good stuff?"  A word to any helpless guy out there hoping to impress a girl he stares at every day in class.  Chocolate, baby!  That is the only way to go!  And not those mystery bon-bons with chocolate covered orange goo or chocolate laced coconut that has the texture of a hairball.  Think Dove, Godiva, Hersheys, etc. and don't even consider anything from Brach's or Willie Wonka. Blech!
All in all, just be yourself.  Pick the best little Madagascar or Transformers card you can find (or draw your own), and double-stick tape a Hershey's kiss to it.  Close your eyes and put that Valentine bravely in your love's Valentine box and know that you have done the best with what's available.

Valentine's Day or not, we should all let our friends know that they are loved and spread that sweetness all around.  It is better than candy and lasts a lot longer that just one Hallmark holiday. ;)
